HSBC needed a mobile optimised design system and user experience for its mobile banking app

My Role

I was influential in both the pitch and prototype to win the project. As UX Lead I managed 4 UX Designers, had oversight with the Creative Director on the UI and took a key role in stakeholder engagement to deliver final designs.

Results

Created a full end to end prototype to develop mobile-first features for customers to complete core banking tasks. Design patterns were thoroughly tested via an external agency were then detailed in a reusable component library

A stakeholder workshop helped establish the priority user journeys and KPIs to focus our design sprints and roadmap. Working in cross-functional sprint teams assigned a particular a user journey we logical flows and began prototyping. We established a framework for states, layers, page types and journeys within the App.

Prototyping and testing became integral to our process.

Design System

Design patterns were transposed into a component library, using an atomic design framework, for consistency, scalability and ease of going into development.
